Sigrid Ladores

Associate Professor and Department Chair

Dr. Sigrid Ladores is a tenured Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of Family, Community and Health Systems at the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Nursing. She is a pediatric nurse practitioner, clinical nurse specialist, certified nurse educator, and Fellow of the American Academy of Nursing. Her research foci areas include quality of life, transition of care, and fertility and reproductive health issues among adolescents and adults with chronic illnesses.  She has served in several academic leadership roles including the Director of the PhD Program and the Co-Director of the BSN Honors Program. Dr. Ladores is also a leader in the Philippine Nurses Association of America (PNAA) and has been involved with the organization for over 16 years. She is currently Co-Chair of the Research Committee of PNAA, and the Past President of PNA-Alabama. Dr. Ladores has received several awards for her teaching, research, mentorship, and service. Dr. Ladores earned her bachelor’s and master’s in science of nursing degrees from the University of Pennsylvania and her PhD in nursing from the University of Central Florida.
