Frequently Asked Questions

The State of the Science Congress on Nursing Research will be held in-person at the Grand Hyatt in Washington, DC from June 13-15, 2024. There will not be a virtual registration option this year.

All cancellations must be requested through and received before 11:59pm ET on May 22, 2024. There is a $250 processing fee for each refund. You may substitute your registration of equal or lesser value to another individual at no additional charge. No refunds will be processed after this date, and no refunds will be given for individuals who do not attend the event.

All are welcome to attend the CANS State of the Science Congress. Past attendees have included CANS members, from early career through senior career, Academy Fellows, nursing students, nurses interested in health policy, health researchers, and stakeholders interested in the future of nursing science.

Asynchronous, on-demand content will be available after the event. Attendees will have access to the content included in the cost of their registration, and it will be available for purchase after the event concludes for those who did not register.

The American Academy of Nursing is accredited as a provider of continuing nursing professional development by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation. Contact hours are awarded by the American Academy of Nursing following the completion of the virtual event and the post-conference evaluation. The fee for Contact Hours is included in the registration rate. Attendees who have purchased contact hours will be awarded 17.75 contact hours after attending the event and completing the evaluation.

There are no relevant financial relationships identified for any individual in a position to control the content of this activity.

Networking opportunities are available in the welcome reception, breaks, exhibit hall, poster sessions, and throughout the event.

Appropriate dress for the CANS State of the Science Congress is business casual. A jacket or sweater is recommended, as meeting room temperatures may vary.
